Mister Omar's Chess Kings go to Cincinnati

This weekend, Omar Durrani will be taking 12 of his Yellow Springs Kings to Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati to participate in the 10th Annual Queen City Classic Chess Tournament. Durrani, founder of Mister Omar's Chess Academy, has been teaching chess at Mills Lawn Elementary School this winter as part of their afterschool enrichment program. His fundraising goal of $1,200 will cover lodging, registration, food and gas for the participants. Contact Durrani at (616) 209-5596 or durranio11@gmail.com for more information. New outdoor seating at Williams Eatery

Williams Eatery owner Lawren Williams has added a side section for outdoor eating and people-watching. As soon as the tables and chairs were in place, he filled them with visitors who had traveled to town with their dogs and were looking for a suitable place to eat.

Later, he confessed, "I hadn't even thought about that!" Once he realized what a perfect solution it was for that situation, he was even more excited about the new addition.

Watch for an additional back patio to open this summer that will include a stage area for local musicians.
